‹ close and return

Situated only a few hundred metres away from Hatton Place, we converted another warehouse building into a law office at ground floor and basement with three apartments above on Britton Street. The new façade is made of metal and glass and reflects the proportions of the listed Georgian building to the left. Light enters into the basement offices through three etched glass pavement panels which illuminate the street in the winter and in the evenings. The etched glass panels fold to form an etched panel at the base of the shopfront allowing the three clear pieces of glass above to read as sympathetic abstractions of the Georgian windows next door giving scale and a pseudo-domestic character to the monolithic brick façade which could otherwise simply have read as a glass office or shop.
