Clark's Lane Norfolk

This Grade 2 listed house in Thursford, Norfolk, had been unoccupied for a number of years until we undertook some micro-surgical repairs, most of which are not really visible. The Dutch Gable facing the lane had become sodden and plants were growing in it - the cottage was damp within. Existing twentieth century Critall windows at first floor were refurbished, and timber windows and doors were renewed. An electric aga was installed in the kitchen sat against the central spine structural wall, turning it into a heat sink radiating warmth throughout the house. Existing lime plaster walls were exposed and repaired, and floors were up-graded where absolutely necessary. Work to the cottage preceded the renovation of a small barn on the lane, converting it into a dwelling - our fourth built project in North Norfolk.
